Gearbox Input Shaft

I thought I could do a quick change on the gearbox input shaft.
I was wrong but in the end it is done.
Changing from a 21 to a 10 spline shaft.
The 17 open bearing rollers hold with some grease inside the shaft.
It is the right decision to use my accumulated FJ40, BJ40 and HJ45 parts assortment from 1978-84 in this project.
But nothing fits straight together.
It is so much easier to convert just a driving car.

Twice Cut And Still Too Short

The exact fitting to the housing mounts is a little bit tricky and takes more time.
I had a 13.2 mm shift to the clutch housing mounts in my basis plate.

Adapter Prep

Preparations for the Adapter Plate measurements.

The gearbox needs to be empty.
Also the clutch housing.
Just a mock-up motor and plate to see how it comes together.

Happy Divorce

After 35 years happy marriage we also have a happy Divorce.
The motor mount side.
The two clutch housing mounts to the frame are missing. So I have to build them...

Passenger side is still missing.

Field Exercises

The basic car work with the old combustion engine is almost done. Now I have to do the technical inspection.

Easy Come Easy Go

OK. The engine was here, but as a dealer, it is my duty to supply emergencies first. The motor went straight on to Rebbl in the Netherlands.
I'll probably get two new WarP 11 again in March.
Anyway, I have been very busy the last weeks working on the original condition with the diesel engine to get a car back and be able to get a historic licence plate...

Awakenings

The projekt is reawakened. First step will be the mother vehicle registration. This is not too easy because I have a Toyota straight-six H engine in the vehicle that was never in this model. And this is Germany here.(
But it is possible. Today I will receive the hopefully best fitting muffler and exhaust.
An EV guy will ask now: " What is a muffler and exhaust???"

Hang Loose

This project seems more to hang, but I am getting more and more things together on my 2CV test bench. I had a very nice phone call with George Hamstra.
Probably in ten days the new WarP11s will be ready. I'll definitive use a WarP11 for the Land Cruiser.

This week I made a battery box for 24 cells out of cardboard. it fits, but things are coming to tight together for a driving car.
As I lay underneath the car thinking about size 12 blogs I fell to sleep...)

Gearbox Mounting

I am struggling a bit with the right way to do the gearbox mounting. Original only the engine and the clutch housing is mounted to the frame. The whole gearbox is free, and there is not realy a good point to mount it. Also the transfer case is aluminium...

Thinking about to lose even more weight

The whole clutch will weight about 42Kg / 93 lbs. And all we need to do with the clutch, is to set the motor "on" or "off".

The flywheel is about 15,1 Kg / 33lbs rotating mass, and thanks to my machinist, it is not running in center.

So I am thinking about to try a LoveJoy...
